about me

Born and raised a Floridian, my family, friends and heart lie in the sunshine city of Sarasota. During and after college, I spent several years away — ironically on a path that led me toward my interest in photography. After purchasing my own home in SRQ, I fell in love again with all the things that make it such a beautiful place to live, inside and out.

Over time, it's been difficult to ignore the beautiful, genuine and inspiring moments that are happening all around. Whether it's a family on vacation with their little ones — leading those little toes to the ocean's edge for the first time — or a group of locals grabbing a quick bite to eat — sharing laughter and joy — I see connection, love and passion poured into the simplicity yet sweet elegance of the coastal lifestyle.

Through a more laid-back style of photography centered on emotion and candid points in time, I've made it my mission to capture those moments as often as possible. I'm not interested in what you are wearing, that you might think you don't look your photo-best or you weren't ready for the camera to snap a photo. I believe the best photos are those that reflect the intricacies of daily life. I sincerely hope you're able to share in the same joy they bring me every day.

With much love,

my background

After graduating from The University of Alabama with a degree in journalism, I began my career in the newspaper industry. During my time as a sports editor for multiple papers, I often found myself taking a camera with me to games and events to capture a few extra photos for the paper. Over time, I became more confident in my skills, and it quickly became one of my favorite things about the job. I was always looking for little moments in the crowd or how I could show the world a different angle they weren't able to see from the stands.

While in the business, I was privileged enough to win a few awards for my photographs, as well as for my writing and page design! I'm forever grateful to the wonderful photographers I watched along the way and the space they granted me to test the waters. They are some of the most talented people I've ever met, and they are even greater human beings.

Looking back, I now realize the journalism business is what shaped a large part of my style and how I view everyday moments. I'm so proud to have that perspective, and it's still a big influence on how I go about photography. More of a documentary style, if you will, mixed perfectly with unposed and authentic, raw emotions. I love to see them live on!
